Most financial reports are created using Microsoft Word and most financial models are created in Microsoft Excel. Key financial information is stored by analysts in models and duplicated in their reports. Together these files are 'published' as part of an analysts research publications. When printed they expose valuable financial values.

Locked Data

Ideally, this financial information should be extractable programmatically and managed so that applications could query on, respond to and provide custom reports and notifications. The trouble is that this isn't all that simple when the data is locked within proprietary Microsoft file formats.

Programmatic Analysis
